CHOPIN AND SZYMANOWSKI IN VILLA ATMA [2008-07-09 ]
The Villa Atma, a listed building nearly a century old that houses a department of the National Museum in Krakow, is located on one of the oldest streets in Zakopane, Kasprusie. It is the only museum in Poland dedicated to the life and works of Karol Szymanowski. This unique place takes its name from the Sanskrit word meaning complete peace of mind, which was a state attained by the gods. Currently the Villa Atma is a space where piano recitals of music by Karol Szymanowski and Fryderyk Chopin are held. The concerts are performed by the excellent Polish and international pianists: Anna Boczar, Teresa Janina Czekaj, Krystyna Man Li Szczepańska, Adam Dobrowolski, Tadeusz Domanowski and Marek Szlezer.
